In physics, electromagnetic radiation (EM radiation or EMR) refers to the waves (or their quanta, photons) of the electromagnetic field, propagating (radiating) through space-time, carrying electromagnetic radiant energy.

It includes radio waves, microwaves, infrared, (visible) light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays.
